Principal's Message

‘Start by doing what’s necessary;

then do what’s possible and suddenly,

you are doing the impossible.

– St. Francis of Assisi

Dear Students, Parents, and Staff,

It gives me immense joy to welcome you to the academic year 2025–2026 at St. Francis School, Borivali. Every new academic year is like opening a fresh chapter—filled with opportunities, purpose, and promise. Rooted in the values of St. Francis of Assisi, we remain committed to shaping young minds with wisdom, compassion, and integrity.

Our students have consistently excelled academically. This year, out of 126 students, 62 have scored above 90%. This remarkable success is a reflection of their hard work, the unwavering dedication of our staff, and the strong partnership we share with our parents. However, at St. Francis School, excellence goes beyond academics—we are devoted to nurturing the mind, body, and spirit of every child.

In the field of sports, too, our students have brought us great pride by participating in and winning accolades at various national-level games and competitions.

In keeping with our holistic vision for student development, we are pleased to announce the introduction of several new initiatives this academic year. Notably, we have received approval to establish a National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit for students of Classes 8 and 9. We are commencing this programme with 50 enrolled students from Class 8, comprising both boys and girls. The NCC initiative aims to instil values of discipline, leadership, and patriotism in our students and is set to become a proud and integral part of our co-curricular framework.

We are also delighted to introduce Cookery as a subject for Classes 9 and 10. This hands-on course promotes creativity, independence, and nutritional awareness while equipping students with essential life skills. Our aim is to nurture well-rounded individuals who are prepared for life beyond academics.

Recognizing the importance of physical activity and student choice, we have added three extra sports activity periods each week, in addition to regular PT classes. These sessions will allow students to select games and activities based on their interests, fostering physical fitness, teamwork, and mental well-being.

On the global front, our Student Exchange Programme with Germany continues to flourish, offering students valuable international exposure that broadens their horizons and fosters cultural understanding. We firmly believe that such global perspectives are essential in preparing our students for the interconnected world of tomorrow.

Additionally, we have registered with AFS Intercultural Programs—an esteemed global organization based in Japan. AFS offers a variety of immersive experiences for high school students, including homestays, school integration, and structured cultural learning. These programs aim to enhance language skills, intercultural sensitivity, and global competence. As opportunities under this programme arise, students will be duly informed and guided through the application process.

Another major focus this year is on personal hygiene and cleanliness. We are integrating health and hygiene awareness into our daily routines through special talks, interactive sessions, and student-led initiatives. These steps aim to create a clean, safe, and respectful school environment for all.

In our endeavour to nurture confident and happy learners, age-wise parent workshops are one of the initiatives in our school, empowering parents to better support their child’s learning and socio-emotional development.

Our popular events—such as Bagless Days, Master Chef, Master & Miss SFS, Franciscan Fiesta, Sports Day, and the Annual School Day—will continue to provide enriching platforms for our students to explore their creativity and showcase their talents. Parents can now stay updated on the exciting events and activities at school by visiting our school’s official Instagram page and school website.

To our dedicated teachers, I extend my heartfelt thanks for your relentless commitment and inspiring contributions. To our ever-supportive parents, your trust and involvement are the bedrock of our shared success. And to our dear students, I encourage you to embrace this new year with curiosity, enthusiasm, and the courage to dream big.

Let us move forward into the new academic year with renewed energy, optimism, and a shared determination to make it meaningful. May 2025–2026 be a year of learning, growth, and cherished memories for all.
