Welcome to the Academic Year 2026–2027
Dear Readers,
It gives me immense joy to welcome you to the Academic Year 2026–2027 at St. Francis School, Borivali, as we begin our new academic session on 5th March 2026. /It is with great joy and renewed hope that I welcome you to the Academic Year 2026–2027 at St. Francis School, Borivali. Each academic year unfolds before us as a fresh chapter—rich with promise, purpose, and new possibilities. Rooted in the inspiring values of St. Francis of Assisi, we continue our mission of shaping young minds with wisdom, compassion, discipline, and integrity.
This year holds a special spiritual significance for us as we commemorate the 800th anniversary (1226–2026) of the heavenly homecoming of St. Francis of Assisi. As a school that bears his name, this dedicated Year of St. Francis invites us not merely to remember him, but to reflect deeply on his life and imitate his virtues. His profound love for simplicity, humility, peace, fraternity, and care for creation remains ever relevant in today’s world. His life reminds us that true greatness lies in service, that leadership is rooted in humility, and that harmony with nature is a sacred responsibility. Throughout this year, we shall consciously integrate Franciscan values into our programmes and activities, encouraging our students to become instruments of peace, compassion, and responsible stewardship of the environment.
Academically, this year marks a significant milestone as we progressively implement the National Education Policy (NEP) framework step by step. The examination pattern and marking scheme will reflect a more holistic and competency-based approach, incorporating both formative and summative assessments. Greater emphasis will be placed on values, critical thinking, and application-based learning, moving decisively away from rote memorization. Life skills education will form an integral part of our curriculum, enabling students to become thoughtful, responsible, and capable individuals prepared for real-life challenges. Bagless Days will also be included as part of the school curriculum to promote experiential and joyful learning.
Beyond the classroom, a rich array of opportunities await our students. Events such as Annual Day, Student Exchange programme, excursions, summer camps, NCC camp, School Exhibition, and Inter-School Competitions will continue to be an essential part of our academic calendar. These platforms provide students with valuable opportunities to discover their talents, develop confidence, and experience healthy competition. The National Cadet Corps (NCC) programme will receive special focus this year, as it plays a vital role in building discipline, leadership qualities, patriotism, and life skills. We are committed to strengthening this initiative so that it becomes a truly formative and transformative experience for our students.
We are equally committed to enhancing our infrastructure and student experience. To ensure a safe and comfortable environment for our youngest learners, we are introducing a fully air-conditioned Indoor Play Area Zone for our Pre-Primary children. This facility will be especially beneficial during the monsoon season, allowing uninterrupted physical activity and joyful engagement. In our continued commitment to environmental responsibility—so dear to the heart of St. Francis— we are in the process of installing solar panels on the school building terrace to promote sustainable energy usage and responsible stewardship of resources. In addition, arrangements will be made for students to visit the rooftop where the solar panels are installed, in a safe and supervised manner. This initiative will provide them with a valuable hands-on learning /real life experience and a practical understanding of the solar energy system.
Additionally, the school terrace will be developed into a multipurpose activity space for structured programmes and student engagement. We have upgraded our canteen facilities to provide hygienic, nutritious, and student-friendly services, reinforcing our commitment to health and well-being.
At St. Francis School, Borivali, we believe that education must nurture the mind, body, and spirit. With the support of our dedicated teachers, committed parents, and enthusiastic students, we look forward to making this academic year vibrant, meaningful, and transformative.
To our teachers, thank you for your unwavering commitment.
To our parents, we are grateful for your continued trust and partnership.
And to our dear students—step into this year with curiosity, courage, and confidence.
May this special Franciscan Year inspire us to grow not only in knowledge, but in kindness; not only in success, but in service.
Let us move forward together—with purpose, with unity, and with hope.
Wishing you all a joyful and fulfilling academic year ahead.
With blessings and best wishes,
